Fusing together special types of glass that I cut from flat sheets of glass. The base is always a colorless piece or a white piece of glass of a certain composition.
Then I build the design with pieces of colored glass and/or with special powders of the same type of glass. Different types do not mix and will fall apart in the oven.
The objects stay in the oven for about 34 hours before I can see them. I always hope it turned out as I intended. But with glass, you never know! That's what makes it so fascinating.
The work is a combination of creativity and technique: the settings I give to the kiln's computer.
The project hinges on that. And being able to be patient.
